Yes that's right July 7th, 2008 was my very first release of a mini kit for a Color Challenge over at SAS (Stone Accents Studio), my first attempt at designing, there you have it :) I had only been digiscrapping for about 3 months and I had no idea what I was doing, whether anyone would like it or if it would actually make a good page ... LOL, if you want a good giggle then check out the post.

Now one year down the track, I've had a few Stores and finally settled on my original Store at SAS ... where I feel most at home.

To celebrate this auspicious occassion, lol, I have made a special Birthday Kit called 'Birthday' which has 18 papers and 63 elements and is on SALE with the rest of my Store at 40% Off for the entire week 7-14. Having Fun

Well my Daughter had a 'Medievil Day' at school yesterday and we had to come up with a costume for her, not wanting to spend alot of money I had to use my creativity!!!

This is what I made using two sheets of silver cardboard on Tuesday afternoon, hubby quickly made the shield from leftover ply and she was set, I'm quite happy with the results and she was thrilled.

Of course, Jnr had to play with the helmet and get a photo too :)

Well today I did something a bit different, I went on my DD's and my DS's laptops and had a look at my blog, wow, the colors looked so washed out on the laptops, I didn't realise that happened???? They reassured me it was quite alright, but nonetheless, I was a bit disappointed that people may view my kits in a 'not so colorful' light ......

Well by now most of you already know that I did not make it into round two (judging by the amount of emails I've received, lol, thankyou all so much) and I just want you all to know that I'm fine with that. When we started this competition we were urged to use the experience as an opportunity to get our names out there to people who may have never heard of our Designs and this is exactly what I did, judging by the number of downloads I got I'm confident that I did just that.

Not everyone can move onto the next round and next week it will be even harder for those left behind, but it in no way means they are not good Designers it just means they are not what the Judges are looking for (rememeber there are only about 4 or 5 people deciding the fate of the Designers), goodness me, I was thankful to make in in the competition at all with the amazing number of Designers that applied in the first place.

I would like to take this opportunity to THANK everyone who did download my kit and leave a lovely comment, I really do appreciate each and every one of the comments left. So chin up ladies, It's not the end of the world, it just means I've got more time to Design this month, LOL.

Freebie - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Wow, what a glorious Day I've had today, it started quite early, about 4.30am because I have a 3 year old that wakes with the birds, lol. I don't mind though, when it got to 7.30 I crawled into bed again and the kids 'woke' me with gifts and breakfast in bed, lovely. We then spent the morning in the garden, weeding chatting and tidying up in general and what a gorgeous day it is for it too, beautiful late Autum weather, I love it. While we were all enjoying lunch (vegetarian sushi) I looked up at the sky and just had to take a photo, how lovely it looked so I'll share it with you here, plus a pic of Jnr playing in the garden.

And there are now considerably less daisies on these bushes because Jnr has been giving me little flowers all day ...... how cute is that :)

Yes you read correctly, I made it through to the first round of 'So You Think You Can Design' over at Digiscrap Addicts and I'm actually feeling quite ill with nerves, there are soooooo many big names in the Competition that I'm amazed I'm even in it. Anyway, this is my first week's entry called 'Radiance' and it has 8 papers and 27 elements. I started out designing a kit for Mother's Day but got sidetracked listening to 'Joi Ho' by the Pussycat Dolls and my kit suddenly took a turn, lol. I love how it turned out, especially the rich papers.

Yes my children went back to school today after a two week break, love having them home and I love seeing them start back at school again, lol.

I thought I might show you something I made over the holidays, my girls and I love to get crafty, especially now that it is a bit cooler here. Over the years we have all made so many craft projects and they have done school projects and I've photographed them so I made this little album just to house these photos, it's not completely finished, that will take quite some time but it was so much fun making it and I'm really pleased with the result. The cover has some old jewels, a broken chain, some random scrapbooking embellishments and a broken beaded bracelet put together to form a piece of jewelry, there are ribbons on the spine and various papers along with a bit of fussy cutting (I can't remember the product names as it's been way over a year since I've paper scrapbooked).

While I was making this album it also gave me the opportunity to see my 'stash' of craft goodies again and to see what I need and don't need, must be that 'spring cleaning' thing I guess but we gave the cupboard a good tidy up that's for sure.

Maybe next holidays we can finish it off as there's only a couple of 'title pages' done so far, yes this could take quite some time but it's time well spent with my girls :)

I have this little Mini Kit that I've made up from some PB's that were never used at Cottage Scrapbooks for the month of April. It has six papers and 19 elements and would be great for many kinds of layouts.Along with this I have the second part to my 'Mother's Day Quickpage Album' which has 8 different Quickpages in both 12x12 and 8x8 inch sizes, a great way to get an early start on your Mother's Day gifts.

So all in all this album has 16 pages with both Part 1 and Part 2.

It's with a sad heart that I tell you that due to unavoidable circumstances Cottage Scrapbooks has gone, unfortunately the owners were having trouble with the site upgrade and things happened during this time and the whole site had to be 'disconnected' ..... I met some lovely ladies at the Cottage and I hope to see them around the Digiworld still, if you were one of my customers at the Cottage please be aware that I am still selling at SAS and Scrapladies and you are most welcome to join my challenges at SAS and make yourself comfortable there.

I will really miss the Cottage because it was somewhere I could chat and relax, have a bit of fun and just know that I was welcome no matter what. It's a shame that sites like this close because these are the sites that really make being a Designer or Scrapper enjoyable, the friendships we share.

Well the last week has been full of ups and quite a few downs, SAS was almost gone and there were quite a few very sad SAS-y ladies to say the least. It was almost D-day and then the good news came ..... and I quote ...

Heres my photo: This is a picture of a wonderful 'Green Smoothie' I made recently, it was such a vivid shade of green I had to take a photo. It's made of pineapple, baby spinache and baby coconut juice, yummo!!!

Spirit of Summer is a charity collab benefiting the Victorian bushfire Appeal. Not only has this effected Australians, but human beings the world over. 29 Australian and international designers have banded together to help support many Australians, animals and communities decimated by one Australia's worse national disasters.

What happened? On Saturday, Feb 7, the temperature in Melbourne was 33'c by 9am. By noon it was 40'c and by 2.50 pm soared to 47.9'c (a state record).Thousands of people were also about to start running from the inferno that would become one of Australia's worst peacetime disasters. Trees ignited in the blink of an eye. By the time people heard the roar, it was too late to flee ahead of the flames.Unfortunatly no one or thing could have stopped this inferno that wiped out communities, bushland, and lives within minutes. Many towns now cease to exist!.After watching interviews with survivors, many say that they cant put into words what they went through, saw or felt on that day.Here are just a few pictures(courtesy of google,The age,sbs &abc Aust.) of this horrible disaster:

How lovely is this, I have received two new Awards, the first from Jeanette of Easy Custom Blogs which is the TLC Blog Award and the Second from Vania of Photo In Scena which is the Treasured Award (Friendship Numbum Award), both of these ladies provide a wonderful service in different areas and in different parts of the world. Now my job is to pass these Awards along to five different well deserving people.

Dreamy Summer Layout

Here's another layout I've done, this one using my kit 'Dreamy Summer', it's of my eldest Daughter, she had to take some photos for a project on 'Love' last year so I thought I'd use the photo and just change the heart colour on her hand a little, I'm really happy how it turned out, it's so soft and 'Dreamy'.

I thought I would let you all see a few layouts that I've done recently using my new kit 'Green Elegance', I've had so much fun making these layouts as the weather has been so hot here lately the last thing I want to do is sit in front of a computer right now, so making layouts to me is still being here while not having to spend alot of time here, if you know what I mean, lol.

I hope you enjoy looking at these layouts, the first is of my daughter on her 15th Birthday, the second is a layout I did for the 'Inspiration Challenge' at SAS and the third is a photo of my daughter again at her 'Middle School Graduation' dinner.

This kit is so much fun to play with because it has 60 elements in it so you have quite the variety to put on your page, it is still on special at both SAS and DDD until 21st January.

Wow I've had a very busy couple of weeks into this year, but it's been alot of fun, my kids go back to school in two weeks time so I'm making the most of still having them with me through the day .... I love the holidays :)

Today I have a couple of Quickpages for you made using my new kit 'Dreamy Summer' which is still on sale until 15th January so if you want this kit best grab it now. HERE's the first one and the second you can get from the SAS NEWSLETTER. They are both 12"x12" in size.

I did a bit of pottering on my blog today, added a few more blinkies and also a 'blog-roll', 'translator' and a 'followers' section so that was something a little different from designing, oh and I changed my blog decorations too. I also had to stay outdoors for a few hours today because we were getting fumigated, lol .... it's apparently flea season and they had taken up residence in my DD's room ... not good at all, especially for her so hopefully now the problem is solved. I must admit it was lovely just sitting outside doing nothing but swimming and nibbling on food and playing games with the kids, luckily it wasn't too hot and humid either.
